PRESEASON OUTLOOK:
Kansas returns three starters and eight letterwinners from last season’s 32-7 team, which won its school-record eighth straight Big 12 regular-season title, 12th Big 12 title and NCAA leading 5th conference regular-season crown. Kansas also advanced to its 14th Final Four and appeared in its ninth NCAA championship game. Senior guards Elijah Johnson and Travis Releford and senior center Jeff Withey are the returning starters. Other returning letterwinners include senior forward Kevin Young, junior forward Justin Wesley, junior guard Niko Roberts and sophomore guards Naadir Tharpe and Christian Garrett. Freshman redshirts Ben McLemore (guard) and Jamari Traylor (forward) practiced the second half of last season and know Bill Self’s system.

There are seven other true freshmen donning the Crimson and Blue in 2012-13. They include guards Rio Adams, Andrew White III, Evan Manning and Tyler Self and forwards Perry Ellis, Landen Lucas and Zach Peters.
