Jay Roberts – Congress of Aboriginal Peoples: [email protected]
Born of Sioux heritage in Des Moines, Iowa, I hold a degree (shakily) in North American Studies from the University of Kansas. I traveled to Ottawa for a look around in 1964 and I’m still here. I have worked for CAP and it’s predecessor, the Native Council of Canada.
Since the mid 1970s on many occasions and I have also worked an accumulated 17 years for the Federal Government as an employee or contractor, all 17 years were in programs related to Aboriginal programs and policies.
My greatest achievement is having lived this long . My second is having 4 children and 6 grandchildren. ( I had a lot of help on this one).
My dream is to see all Canadian Aboriginal People engaged in the life of this nation and helping governments, businesses and institutions design, develop and deliver programs that enhance the quality of life for all Canadians.
