Bio: Peterson was twice a first-team All-American selection and three times an All-Missouri Valley Conference member. He led KU in scoring his final two seasons, helped the team to five straight MVC titles and is a member of the Kansas Athletic Hall of Fame.
Known for his great leaping ability, Al Peterson was an All-American center in 1926. He was a dominate inside force as KU recorded three straight Missouri Valley basketball titles during his varsity career primarily behind the play of Peterson and classmate Gale Gordon. Peterson was an all-conference selection all three years. He also led the Jayhawks and the conference in scoring both his junior (9.1 points per game) and senior (10.3) years.
