A versatile performer who can add depth to the Jayhawk roster at either the small or power forward positions... An effective rebounder... Has a good stroke at the free throw line, as he was perfect from the stripe last season.

Junior Season (2002-03)
Named First-Team Academic All-Big 12... Earned the Ken Koenigs Academic Award at the team
s annual postseason awards ceremony... Saw action in 21 games... Averaged 0.4 points and 0.3 rebounds in 2.4 minutes per contest... Nailed all four of his free throw attempts... Had one block... Scored a career-high two points on four occasions... Ripped down a career-best two rebounds against Marquette on April 5.

High School
Chanute High School (1999)... Averaged 26 points per game en route to earning All-State honors.

Off the Court
An excellent student, Olson has already earned his undergraduate degree from KU and is pursuing a master
s degree in exercise science while applying for admission to medical school... Recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average for eight straight semesters as an undergrad... Named First-Team Academic All-Big 12 last season... Step-sister, Geri Hart, played womens basketball at KU... Made the team last year via walkon tryouts, which were attended by over 50 KU students... Some former Jayhawks to don No. 3 include Brett Ballard, Terry Brown and Lester Earl.
