Overview
An invited walk-on who was a two-sport star in high school, excelling in
football and basketball... A great shooter who nailed a state-record 58 straight
free throws as a junior in high school... Adds energy off the bench and was
often the first walk-on called on... Plays smart and protects the ball well... A
fiery player who adds depth to the Jayhawk backcourt.
Freshman Season (2003-04)
Played in 16 games, logging 4.0 minutes per contest... Averaged 0.7 points, 0.6
rebounds and 0.2 assists per game... Had a total of 11 points, nine rebounds and
three three-point baskets on the season... Played in his first career game at
TCU on Dec. 1, playing just one minute... Recorded his first career points with
a three pointer, while also dishing out an assist and pulling down a rebound in
a career-high 11 minutes against Fort Hays State on Dec. 10... Tallied two
points with an assist and a rebound in six minutes versus UC Santa Barbara on
Dec. 20... Pulled down two rebounds in back-to-back games against Binghamton and
Villanova on Dec. 29 and Jan. 2, respectively... Poured in a career-high six
points in nine minutes of play at Nebraska on Feb. 15... Recorded his first
career block versus Iowa State on Feb. 21... Saw action in six-straight contests
from Feb. 15 through March 3... Played two minutes in his first career NCAA
Tournament game agaisnt Illinois-Chicago on March 19.
High School
Lincoln (Neb.) Southeast High School (2003)... Coached by Jeff Smith... The 2003
Gatorade Player of the Year in Nebraska... Named the 2003 NBDA Coaches Player of
the Year... A 2003 McDonald's All-America nominee... A two-time first team Super
State selection in Nebraska... Averaged 20 points per game as a junior and set a
state record by hitting 58 straight free throws... Poured in 15 points per game
as a senior... Led the Knights to back-to-back state runner-up finishes as a
junior and senior... Broke seven school records and one state record on the
hardwood... Finished his career as Southeast's all-time leading scorer with 963
points... Also an All-State selection in football as a quarterback, where he
threw for 1,236 yards as a junior, but played in only four games as a senior
after suffering a dislocated left shoulder... Southeast won state in football
Bahe's sophomore and senior years.
Off The Court
Bahe (pronounced Bah) is bucking family tradition by coming to Kansas to play
basketball -- his father and uncle both played football for his hometown
Nebraska Cornhuskers... Chose to walk-on at KU over scholarship offers from
Boise State, Ohio, Bowling Green, Marist and Cal Poly... Aspires to have a
career as a sports broadcaster... Some former Jayhawks to wear No. 21 include
Nick Bradford, Milt Newton and Sean Pearson.
